Generation Records
The Problem: Market collectible vinyls to a younger target audience.
Generation Records is a fictional music store that aims to sell collectible vinyls to a young adult audience. Since the store is aimed toward a younger audience, I adopted a fresh and clean look while using retro colors.
The logomark contains two references. One is a reference to the Woodstock Festival of 1969. This festival is often considered to be a pivotal moment in popular music history, The poster for this festival contained a bird, and I mimicked the simplistic illustration style with a modern twist. The second reference is that of a record player. The bird is positioned on the stump in a war to mirror the needle of a record player. The logotype uses a blend of serif and sans serif typefaces to hint at the blend of time periods embraced by Generation Records.
